7 licence types
1-Day Rod Licence
Valid for 24 consecutive hours. Ideal for occasional anglers or trying a new venue.

8-Day Rod Licence
Valid for 8 consecutive days. Great for holidays and short fishing trips.

12-Month Coarse Licence
Full year licence for coarse fish and eels. The most popular choice for regular anglers.

12-Month Trout & Char Licence
Covers non-migratory trout and char. Required in addition to coarse licence for mixed fishing.

12-Month Salmon & Sea Trout Licence
Full migratory licence covering salmon, sea trout, and all other fish species.

Junior Licence (13–16)

Scottish Fishing Permit
No national rod licence required in Scotland. Purchase a permit from the landowner, club, or fishery for the specific water.

Do I need a licence?
In England and Wales, anyone aged 13 or over fishing for salmon, trout, freshwater fish, or eels must have a valid Environment Agency rod licence. Separate permits may be required for individual fisheries. Always check local bylaws before fishing.
